Bryce enjoys typography, here are some examples of his work

This one is called The Distance.  “It was influenced because i have a really good friend who lives in australia and we were talking on skype. And this is where the breakdown in video chat comes in. Its still lacking in the human touch.”

This one is called Time Zones.  “It is also about Australia since they are 18 hours ahead right now, it’s usually the next day. The future! But not really.”

Hands Create

October 30, 2009

Hands Create is an umbrella term for a tight group of friends and their ongoing projects.

Basically it is a network that seeks to bring different disciplines together, to learn and celebrate from our similarities and our differences.  It is a collaborative effort between artists, writers, photographers, musicians, gardeners, and designers.

In a world that needs creative thinking and authentic community more than ever Hands Create engages in work that transcends barriers and opens up new possibilities.

Some of the reasons Hands Create exists is to:

-Focus attention on the importance of art and culture

-Bring a sense of cultured individuality to the products we buy.  To stop assimilating ourselves under large corporate brands

-Form a collective of creative people

-Try to be creators, not just consumers

-Create an eclectic reserve of ideas that can only come from a collective of personalities

-To create a place where anyone interested in one aspect of Hands Create [e.g. Music] will have access to other aspects [book project]. This way we can connect all the different avenues that our friends our involved with, into one comprehensive community.

Hands create is ambitious and open to criticism.  We are all accountable to each other and need to create dialogue and honesty between us. We seek to see “through the confusions of ideology” to become our ideals and be at the forefront of the change we want to see.

Hands Create is a place where all our friends are.

We Were Created to Create

October 30, 2009

Hands Create first started to take shape about two years ago. We started with small DIY projects from sewing and making their own clothes, to painting, to music, to starting a garden.  We even put together a harvest party at the end of their first gardening season; this included eating our freshly grown food, live music and art.  All this was by local artists and friends of Hands Create. A little while later Hands Create started to grow and took a few more within the collective, including musicians, photographers, and writers.

We are growing faster than ever.  This blog’s purpose is to document our projects and promote our friends.
